Can a new iron pill help tired blood donors?
NCT ID NCT04250298
Summary
This small pilot study tested a special iron supplement in 50 healthy blood donors who had been turned away due to low iron levels. Participants took the supplement daily for three months. Researchers wanted to see if it raised their hemoglobin (a measure of red blood cells), improved their iron stores, and reduced symptoms like fatigue and poor sleep.
