NCT ID NCT03696797

First seen Jun 14, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 14, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether reducing iron levels in the body through regular blood donation can improve blood sugar control and liver health in people with prediabetes, diabetes, and fatty liver disease. Researchers enrolled 132 adults aged 40-75 and measured changes in blood sugar and liver enzymes over 6 to 12 months. The goal was to see if lowering iron stores could be a simple, drug-free way to manage these conditions.
