Iron infusion trial aims to help patients with severe lung condition breathe easier

Summary

This study is testing whether giving intravenous iron to people with pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) and iron deficiency can help them walk farther and feel better. The trial will involve 306 patients who will receive either iron infusions or a placebo solution. Researchers will measure changes in walking distance, fatigue, shortness of breath, and overall quality of life over 24 weeks.
