First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new oral iron supplement (Sucrosomial iron) can treat iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women as effectively as intravenous (IV) iron, but with fewer side effects and lower cost. About 82 women in their second or third trimester with mild to moderate anemia will take the oral supplement for 30 days. The main goal is to see if it raises hemoglobin levels by at least 1 g/dL.
