New drug combo could boost stroke recovery in clot removal patients
NCT ID NCT07263776
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding an anti-inflammatory drug (interleukin-6 receptor inhibitor) to the standard clot removal procedure helps people recover better after a severe stroke caused by a large blockage in a main brain artery. About 692 adults who are eligible for emergency clot removal will receive either the drug or a placebo, and their recovery will be measured at 90 days. The goal is to see if the drug reduces brain damage and improves daily functioning.
