Could radiologists replace anesthesiologists for certain procedures?
NCT ID NCT07443254
First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether interventional radiologists can safely give deep sedation (using ketamine) for procedures that normally require general anesthesia. The goal is to see if this approach works well and is safe, with anesthesiologists on standby if needed. About 40 adults will take part, and the study will measure success by how often the procedure is completed without switching to general anesthesia.
