This study investigates whether intensively lowering systolic blood pressure with FDA-approved medications can reduce the buildup of amyloid and tau proteins in the brain—hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease. The trial enrolls adults aged 60-85 with high blood pressure who are cognitively normal but at increased risk for memory decline. Participants receive either intensive blood pressure treatment or follow their usual care, and brain changes are measured using PET scans and MRI over time.
