First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested whether putting lignocaine (a numbing medicine) into the belly during gynecologic open surgery can lower pain and the need for strong painkillers like morphine. 112 women took part, and half got the medicine while the other half got a placebo. The goal was to see if this approach works better and causes fewer side effects than standard pain relief.
