Simple breathing test may replace overnight sleep studies for CPAP settings
NCT ID NCT07554430
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a non-invasive lung function test called impulse oscillometry (IOS) can predict the correct pressure settings for sleep apnea therapy. About 92 adults with moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea will take the test during the day and then have their pressure needs measured overnight. If successful, this approach could simplify treatment setup and reduce the need for lengthy sleep studies.
