First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether screening pregnant women for malaria in the first trimester using a highly sensitive rapid test, followed by treatment if positive, can prevent serious pregnancy problems. Over 2,100 women in malaria-prone areas will be compared to those receiving standard care. The goal is to reduce risks like low birth weight, preterm birth, stillbirth, and newborn death.
