First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether a single spray of numbing medicine inside the chest can reduce pain caused by drainage tubes after lung surgery. About 300 adults having keyhole lung surgery will be randomly assigned to receive one of two numbing sprays or a placebo spray. Researchers will measure pain levels, sleep quality, and side effects for three days after surgery.
