New dental scanner could make implant impressions faster and more accurate
NCT ID NCT07320729
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two ways of taking digital dental impressions for people getting full-arch implants. One method uses a standard intraoral optical scanner, and the other uses a newer photogrammetry scanner. The goal is to see which one is more accurate and faster. Only 4 people are enrolled, so results are very early.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Intraoral Photogrammetry Scanner Elite (Shining3D)
What this could lead to
If this works, it could show that photogrammetry is a faster and more accurate way to take dental impressions for full-arch implants.
What could go wrong
This is a very small study with only 4 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It's also an early-stage trial, so findings are preliminary.
