Could low oxygen levels rewire your breathing? new study investigates.
NCT ID NCT07409649
First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at how brief periods of low oxygen (like those in sleep apnea) change the body's breathing control system. Researchers will measure breathing stability in 40 healthy adults before and after 6 hours in a low-oxygen chamber. The goal is to understand if these oxygen dips cause lasting changes, which could lead to better treatments for sleep apnea.
