First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tested if intermittent fasting (the 5:2 diet) helps people who regained weight after bariatric surgery lose weight better than a standard low-calorie diet. Sixteen adults who had surgery at least a year ago and gained back significant weight took part. For 12 weeks, they followed either intermittent fasting or a daily calorie limit, with check-ins every two weeks to track progress.
