First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at a new, low-cost infection marker called the Intensive Care Infection Score (ICIS) in 97 burn patients. The goal was to see if ICIS can tell the difference between inflammation caused by infection and other causes better than current tests. Researchers compared ICIS to standard markers like CRP and white blood cell count.
