First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether giving stroke survivors more occupational therapy helps them become more independent in basic daily activities like dressing and eating. Twenty people who had a first-time stroke took part. Researchers measured their abilities using standard assessments. The goal was to see if a little extra therapy makes a real difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
intensified occupational therapy
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that more therapy time helps stroke survivors regain independence in basic daily activities.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, completed trial with only 20 participants, so results may not apply widely. The intervention is behavioral, not a drug, so effects may be modest.
