First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This pilot study tested a new computer algorithm that estimates how hard patients are working to breathe while receiving high-flow nasal oxygen. The goal was to see if the method works in real patients. Twenty adults in the intensive care unit took part. If successful, this approach could help doctors detect breathing failure earlier and improve care.
