Inhaled therapy tested for rare Double-Lung condition

NCT ID NCT03814317

Summary

This study tested whether an inhaled medication called treprostinil could help people with sarcoidosis who have two related lung problems: scarring (interstitial lung disease) and high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension). The goal was to see if this targeted, inhaled treatment could improve heart and lung function with fewer side effects than pills. Five participants used the medication, and researchers measured changes in blood pressure in their lungs, walking distance, and other heart and lung tests.
