First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a 3-day course of inhaled colistin can prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in adults on breathing machines who are at high risk for drug-resistant infections. About 508 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the number of first-time VAP cases within 28 days.
