Flu shot secrets: study probes age differences in immune response

NCT ID NCT04101838

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at how approved seasonal flu vaccines affect the body's immune response in younger adults (ages 18-50) and older adults (ages 65-80). Researchers will measure antibodies and memory B cells in the blood to see how age and past vaccination history change the way the immune system reacts. The goal is to better understand why flu vaccines may work differently as people age.
