First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study is looking at whether certain markers in a child's blood before surgery can predict if they will become confused or agitated after waking up from anesthesia. The study will include 140 children, ages 2 to 12, who are having circumcision. Researchers will measure inflammation markers from a routine blood test and check for delirium using a special scale after surgery. The goal is to find a simple way to identify children at higher risk for this common side effect.
