New study aims to Fine-Tune breathing support for COPD patients under the knife

Summary

This study looks at how different levels of pressure from a breathing machine affect the lungs and heart during lung surgery in people with COPD. About 48 adults having lung surgery will each try three pressure settings for five minutes each. The goal is to find the best pressure to keep lungs open and the heart stable.
