Cash for clean tests: study pays patients to stay sober and show up

NCT ID NCT05288751

Summary

This study is testing if a reward program helps people with opioid or stimulant addiction stick with their treatment. Patients can earn small cash payments for attending their doctor's appointments and for having drug-free urine tests. The goal is to see if this approach, already used in specialty clinics, can work well in regular primary care offices to help people stay in treatment and reduce drug use.
