First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 6-week virtual program called PVI that helps young stroke survivors build personal resources through inclusive volunteering. Researchers want to see if it improves work ability, self-confidence, and emotional well-being. 160 participants aged 18-64 who had a stroke and have been unemployed for at least 3 months will be randomly assigned to the program or usual care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Personal Resource Building and Inclusive Volunteering Intervention (PVI) - a 6-week virtual behavioral program
What this could lead to
If it works, this program could help young stroke survivors regain confidence and skills to return to work, improving their quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small early-stage trial (160 people) testing a behavioral intervention, so results may not apply to everyone. The program is virtual and may not suit all participants.
