Texts and checklists aim to close health gap for Low-Income diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT04874116

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of in-person coaching and text message reminders helps people with type 2 diabetes take their medications more consistently. The goal is to better control blood sugar and reduce the risk of heart disease, especially in low-income and minority communities where these problems are more common. Researchers are comparing the full program, which includes special checklists for doctor visits, to using text message reminders alone.
