First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looked at 707 adults having emergency abdominal surgery to compare two ways of using a breathing machine during the operation. One method used higher air pressure and extra puffs to open the lungs, while the other used lower pressure without extra puffs. The goal was to see which approach led to fewer breathing problems and deaths after surgery.
