New combo therapy for advanced cancer shows promise in small study

This study looked at 42 adults with advanced solid tumors who were receiving or about to start immunotherapy (checkpoint inhibitors) and also needed palliative radiotherapy to ease symptoms like pain or breathing trouble. The goal was to see how safe and tolerable the combination is, and whether it might shrink tumors not only where radiation was given but elsewhere in the body (abscopal effect). Results help doctors understand which patients might benefit most from this combined approach.
