Experimental vaccine aims to fight childhood brain tumors
NCT ID NCT01795313
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested a cancer vaccine made from tumor protein fragments (peptides) combined with an immune-boosting cream (imiquimod) in children whose ependymoma brain tumors had come back. The goal was to see if the treatment was safe and could activate the child's own immune system to attack the tumor. The study was stopped early, but results help guide future research.
