New drug duo aims to extend life for Tough-to-Treat colon cancer

Summary
This large, late-stage trial is testing whether a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (botensilimab and balstilimab) helps people with advanced colorectal cancer live longer than standard supportive care. The study involves over 800 adults whose cancer cannot be surgically removed and has stopped responding to all available chemotherapy. Researchers will also measure if the treatment improves quality of life, slows tumor growth, and is safe for patients.
