Immune clues may reveal hidden insulin factories in type 1 diabetes
NCT ID NCT01747967
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 38 times
Summary
This study looked at 156 people with type 1 diabetes to see if measuring immune cells that attack insulin-making cells could be a simpler way to track how many of those cells remain. Currently, doctors use a long meal test to check insulin production, but it's not very sensitive. The goal was to find easier, more reliable markers to help monitor the disease and guide future treatments.
