Scientists search for immune clues to predict metabolic trouble

NCT ID NCT03309761

Summary

This completed study aimed to understand how the body's immune system activity relates to insulin resistance, a condition that can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Researchers measured many immune markers and health factors in 158 volunteers aged 55 to 69. The goal was to find patterns that could help identify people at higher risk for metabolic problems before they develop serious illness.
