New imaging method aims to spot rare childhood and adult cancers without surgery

NCT ID NCT07195500

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 41 times

Summary

This study is testing whether special PET scans using targeted tracers can accurately find and stage neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma tumors. About 30 people aged 1 to 70 will receive an injection of a radioactive tracer and then have a PET scan. The scan results will be compared to standard biopsy results to see how well the imaging works. The goal is to improve diagnosis and staging without relying solely on surgery.
