Summary
This study tested whether a radioactive tracer called Annexin can detect early lung damage in people with COPD and in smokers. It included healthy non-smokers, healthy smokers, and patients with moderate to severe COPD. Participants had a CT scan, lung function tests, and a blood test all in one day. The goal was to see if this tracer could help diagnose COPD earlier.
