New imaging technique for lung nodule removal tested against standard surgery

NCT ID NCT03623958

First seen Nov 16, 2025 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at two ways to remove small lung spots (nodules) in people with lung cancer. One method uses special imaging during surgery (iVATS), the other is standard surgery (VATS). The goal is to see how long each surgery takes, how long patients stay in the hospital, and how much radiation they are exposed to. About 200 adults will take part, and the two groups will be studied separately, not directly compared.
