First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested a special navigation tool that works like a GPS during robot-assisted kidney surgery. The goal was to help surgeons remove only the tumor and leave as much healthy kidney tissue as possible. Twenty adults with kidney cancer took part. The tool uses electromagnetic tracking to follow the kidney's movement during surgery. Researchers checked if the amount of tissue removed matched the planned amount.
