Could a biologic drug spare throat patients from repeated surgeries?
NCT ID NCT05309616
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether the drug Taltz can slow scar tissue growth in the throat, potentially reducing the need for repeat surgeries in people with idiopathic subglottic stenosis. Ten participants received the drug, and researchers measured how long they could go between surgeries compared to before treatment. The goal was to see if blocking a specific immune signal (IL-17A) helps control the disease without a cure.
