First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether the drug megestrol, combined with a 24-week feeding program, helps children aged 9 months to 9 years who rely on feeding tubes transition to eating by mouth. About 70 children received either megestrol or a placebo. The main goal was to see if they could get at least 90% of their calories orally. The study also checked for side effects like adrenal insufficiency.
