Scientists hunt for blood test to replace kidney biopsies
NCT ID NCT07295808
Summary
This study aims to understand what makes certain immune proteins damage kidneys in IgA nephropathy, a common cause of kidney failure. Researchers will compare kidney tissue and blood samples from 150 adults with this disease to those with other kidney conditions. The goal is to find specific markers in the blood that could help diagnose or predict the disease without needing a kidney biopsy.
