Doctors test bold new strategy to save transplant patients from deadly infections

NCT ID NCT06881927

Summary

This study aims to find a better way to treat kidney transplant patients who become critically ill with severe infections like septic shock. It will test whether temporarily lowering their anti-rejection medications helps their bodies fight the infection and recover in the intensive care unit, without causing their body to reject the transplanted kidney. Researchers will compare this new approach to the current standard care.
