New calculator aims to predict survival for critically ill liver patients

NCT ID NCT06561477

Summary

This study tested a new scoring system called the ICCO score to see how well it could predict survival for people with advanced liver disease (cirrhosis) who are admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Researchers enrolled 150 patients to calculate the ICCO score and compare its accuracy to other standard ICU scoring methods. The goal was to find the best tool to help doctors make early predictions about patient outcomes and guide treatment decisions.
