First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks back at an outbreak of a hard-to-treat bacteria (VIM-producing Enterobacter cloacae) in an intensive care unit during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers reviewed the cases of 14 ICU patients who had this superbug to understand how the hospital managed the outbreak. The goal was to show what steps worked to stop the spread, not to test a new treatment.
