Fight ICU muscle wasting: protein & electric stimulation tested

NCT ID NCT05919940

Summary

This study aims to see if a combination of early high-protein feeding and muscle stimulation can help prevent severe muscle loss in patients who are critically ill in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It will involve 40 patients, with half receiving the special combination therapy and half receiving standard care. Researchers will use ultrasound and muscle strength tests to see if the new approach better preserves muscle mass and strength.
