Summary
This study tested a new, low-cost infection score called ICIS in 97 adult and child burn patients. The goal was to see if ICIS could better tell the difference between inflammation caused by infection versus other causes, compared to standard blood markers. The results may help doctors decide when to use antibiotics more accurately.
