Glowing dye could prevent leaks during esophageal surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether a special green dye, called indocyanine green, can help surgeons see and fix small leaks in the esophagus during a procedure for achalasia (a swallowing disorder). About 70 adults with type I or II achalasia will be watched during and after surgery. The goal is to see if the dye reduces the need for follow-up X-rays and improves recovery.
