First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at using a special green dye (ICG) during a surgery called Heller-Dor for people with achalasia, a swallowing disorder. The dye makes it easier for surgeons to see if there are any leaks or leftover muscle fibers during the operation. The goal is to improve safety and possibly avoid the need for a follow-up X-ray. About 70 adults with type I or II achalasia will take part.
