Shock or no shock? new study tests if meds alone can save older heart patients

Summary
This study looks at whether heart failure medication alone works as well as medication plus an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) for people aged 70 and older. The goal is to see if avoiding the device can still keep patients alive just as long. About 730 participants with weak hearts will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and followed for 4 years.
