First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 18, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study is testing if adding the medication mirtazapine to a special low-FODMAP diet helps people with IBS-D feel better than using the diet alone. It will involve about 20 adults with IBS-D to see if the combination reduces symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloating more effectively. The goal is to find better ways to manage persistent IBS symptoms when diet changes aren't enough.
