First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests iberdomide, an immunotherapy drug, alone or with dexamethasone in 68 people with intermediate- or high-risk smoldering multiple myeloma. The goal is to see if the treatment can shrink or control the cancer cells and delay progression to active myeloma. Participants will be monitored with blood tests, urine tests, and bone marrow biopsies.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- iberdomide and dexamethasone
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a new treatment option to delay or prevent smoldering myeloma from becoming active cancer.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial with only 68 participants, so results may not apply broadly. Side effects from the drugs could also limit tolerability.
