New study aims to predict painful skin rash in hospital patients
NCT ID NCT06978751
First seen Jun 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study collected information from 271 hospital patients with incontinence to find out which factors most strongly predict a painful skin condition called incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD). Researchers tracked things like age, stool consistency, and mobility, and checked patients' skin daily. The goal is to use this data to create a simple risk assessment tool that helps nurses prevent IAD before it starts.
