Brain training before CAR-T may protect memory, study hopes
NCT ID NCT07609030
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests an online cognitive training program called I-CAN in 90 adults with relapsed multiple myeloma or B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma who are about to receive CAR-T cell therapy. The training aims to reduce the memory, attention, and thinking problems that often follow cancer treatment. Participants will do the training before and after their CAR-T infusion, and researchers will track how many complete the program and whether they report better cognitive function.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
online cognitive training program (I-CAN)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a way to reduce memory and thinking problems caused by cancer treatment.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study, so it may not show clear cognitive benefits. The training is time-consuming and not all patients may stick with it.
